Field Trips
6th Grade Outdoor Education Camp
Every year, the 6th grade class has the opportunity to go to the YMCA Camp Storer in Jackson, MI. Throughout their week stay at Camp Storer, students learn about natural sciences, environmental issues, cultural history, and team building through active participation. Students also learn the camp's motto: “God first. Others Second. I'm Third."
7th & 8th grade Washington D.C.
Every other year, the 7th and 8th grade class take a 4-day trip to Washington D.C. While there, the class visits many of the memorials and monuments, including: WWII Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, National Archives, Lafayette Park, Embassy Row, Arlington National Cemetery, Ford Theater, Holocaust Museum, National Shrine of the Basilica, Washington Monument, National Cathedral, Smithsonian, FDR Memorial, and Iwo Jima Monument. The classes have a memorable time visiting our nation's capitol and learning about our rich history.
8th Grade Class Trips
With the rising costs and other concerns, we have been able to give our students field trips in Michigan and Ohio instead of going to DC. Our goal is for the students to experience similar museums and activities. These trips are a fraction of the cost and closer to home. Below is a list of trips we have gone on or are planning on doing this year. We do vary based on the cost and availability.
Zekelman Holocaust Center in Detroit Michigan, which also houses a sapling from the tree from Anne Frank's diary
Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan
Overnight at the Toledo Zoo
Overnight at the Newport Aquarium in Cincinnati, Ohio
A private showing of a movie picked by the students at the Maumee Indoor theater and a scavenger hunt
Visiting the Ark Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio
A retreat at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio
A retreat at Sorrowful Mother Shrine in Bellview, Ohio
Fulton County Ag Fest
Each year the third graders go to the Fulton County Ag Fest. Community members from Fulton County volunteer their time to educate the county's fourth graders on agriculture. Students spend the day going to different sessions and participating in hands-on activities. They learn many things from life in the 1800s and farming history, to information about water, soil, and livestock. Teachers and students receive educational materials to be used in the classroom as well as an Ag Fest t-shirt.
Preschool Field Trip to Gust Pumpkin Farm
Every fall, the 3 year old and 4 year old preschool classes take a field trip to Gust Pumpkin Farm. While there, the students get a tour of the farm and learn about many different animals, including chickens, goats, pigs, cows, rabbits, and more. The kids get a chance to feed the animals and pet them too! They also get a hayride around the farm. The trip ends with the preschoolers picking out their own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. A few days before Halloween, the preschoolers have Dad's Night at school where the kids and their dads carve out their pumpkin, sing a song, and enjoy a little treat.
Kindergarten Seasonal Field Trips to Secor Park
For every season, the kindergarten class takes a field trip to Secor Park. While there, they take a walk and observe the changes that take place from season to season within nature. They visit a pond, creek, and meadow while walking along the nature paths. Students keep a journal to write down and draw pictures while they are there

Toledo Mud Hens and Walleye School Days, Theater Vision Plays at Franciscan Life Center and the Valentine Theater, Lourdes Planetarium, Wolcott House, Fort Meigs, Toledo History Trip, Nutcracker Ballet, A Christmas Carol Play and many more!
Preschoolers trip to Johnson's Fruit Farm
Johnston Fruit Farm does a wonderful job teaching our students about plant life cycles and apples while providing an opportunity to pick our own apples, see how cider is made, and explore their orchards and farm. We love this field trip because everyone at Johnston's is so friendly and knowledgeable. The kids talk about this trip all year!
